Dealers from across Ireland descended on the headquarters of official Irish Distribution
partner Farmhand Ltd to witness the first Spearhead Showcase to take part in the
country for some ten years.
The 2nd of September Showcase allowed dealers and representatives from all corners
of the country to receive an update on developments within the Spearhead company
and to witness the official launch to the Irish market of the new TWIGA range of
Hedge Cutters.
Dealers were formally welcomed to the state of the art Farmhand premises in Damastown,
Dublin by Farmhand Owner John Scrivener where they were able to experience a selection
of products from the complete Spearhead range.
The event began with a company overview presentation led by Spearhead Machinery
Ltd General Manager, Christian Davies who revealed many new and exciting projects
that had either been completed or were in the pipeline.
Following this the attendees were treated to individual overviews of all of the
machines on site by Antony Prince, Export Manager with Farmhand Sales Staff, David
Borland, Jack Harding, Paul Scrivener and Val McAuley on hand to demonstrate machines
and position them within the Farmhand showroom.
The highlight of these viewings was the launch of the new TWIGA range of Hedge Cutters,
with a TWIGA 500, TWIGA 560 and TWIGA 650T in territory for the very first time
all fitted with the new MP2 Flail Head. These machines form the basis of a range
that is much needed in the Irish market place.
Following an informal lunch where dealers could discuss general business with members
of both the Spearhead and Farmhand teams it was out into the field and the Dublin
sunshine for an afternoon of machine testing and working demonstrations.
Further to Hedge Cutter demonstrations customers also got to witness the TRIDENT
Flail Mower, R270 Flail Mower and MULTICUT 460 Rotary Mower in action. Antony Prince,
Spearhead Export Manager said; ‘From my last few visits to Ireland I got the impression
that Spearhead was seen solely as a manufacturer of Hedge Cutters. I felt it was
important to get the message across to these guys about our other activities which
contribute to a large part of our business. In Europe Spearhead is renowned for
its rotary mowers with the MULTICUT 460 being one of the company’s biggest assets.
Although the market isn’t that great here for this machine I think that the dealers
were suitably impressed by the machines performance and they will go away with food
for thought.’
Val McAuley, Farmhand Ltd Sales Support Manager was pleased with how the day went
commenting, ‘It was great to be able to stage this event for the first time in so
many years. With the recent developments at Spearhead we felt it important to re-launch
the brand in a positive light. I feel that the dealers went away encouraged and
impressed with what they saw today.’
